How a Virtual Australian Bush Trip Can Help De-stress

Using your ears rather than your eyes can alleviate stress, according to a recent study

Listening to a podcast dedicated to nature sounds from various Australian wilderness areas is one of my favourite activities for a breather.

I love it. It helps me to relax.

Usually, it’s when I’ve moved too quickly, or exerted too much energy and overdone my fuel levels, trying to do something in fast-forward.

The podcast I use is by ABC Radio, and is called Nature Tracks.

All the episodes have since finished recording and are all released. However, they are all still free and accessible.

The tracks range from one to three hours. It’s possible to listen for a 5-minute burst, a one-hour session, or all the way through for several hours straight.

There are ten tracks in total, with the sounds noted within each title description. On this particular podcast, there are tracks with heavy or gentle rain, sounds of thunder and creeks, frogs, lyrebirds, magpies, birdsongs, and night sounds.
